Which light sources are best for charging my picture?
To achieve the maximum glow from your picture in the dark, it's important to use the right light sources to charge it. In addition to natural daylight, there are several effective light sources that can help activate the luminous pigments:
- UV light: UV light is the most effective light source for charging your pictures. UV light contains the necessary wavelengths to quickly and efficiently activate the pigments, resulting in a strong and long-lasting glow.
- Blue light: Blue light, especially with wavelengths around 450 nm, is also highly effective at charging luminous pigments. Blue light penetrates deeply into the pigments and activates them quickly, making it a good alternative to UV light.
- Cool white light: Cool white light (5000-6500 Kelvin) contains a high proportion of blue and violet wavelengths, which are effective at charging your picture. While it's less effective than UV light, it's still a good option if UV or blue light is not available.
- Fluorescent lights: Some fluorescent lights, especially those that emit cool white light, can also be used to charge your picture, although they are less effective than the above-mentioned light sources.
- LED lights: LED lights, particularly those that emit cool white or blue light, can also be a good source for charging your pictures. Be sure to choose LED lights with a high Kelvin value for the best results.
We recommend purchasing a UV flashlight, as it is the most effective method for charging your picture.
How long does my picture glow after being charged?
The duration your picture glows after being charged depends on the luminous color you have chosen. The green color is known to glow the longest, while colors like yellow and red have a shorter glow time. If you want to see a direct comparison of how long the different colors glow, you can watch our video where we compare their brightness over time.
The video can be viewed on the homepage or on one of our product pages.
Should I buy a UV flashlight for my picture?
Yes, we recommend purchasing a UV flashlight for your picture. A UV flashlight is the most effective way to charge the luminous pigments, ensuring that your picture achieves maximum glow in the dark. While natural daylight and other light sources can also charge your picture, UV light provides a quicker and stronger charge, resulting in a more intense and longer-lasting glow.

Why is cool white light better than warm white light for charging my picture?
Cool white light is more effective at charging your pictures than warm white light. This is because cool white light contains a higher proportion of blue and violet wavelengths (around 5000-6500 Kelvin), which are better at activating the luminous pigments in your pictures. These shorter wavelengths carry more energy, making them ideal for charging the picture faster and more efficiently.
Warm white light, on the other hand, has a higher proportion of red and yellow wavelengths (around 2700-3000 Kelvin). These longer wavelengths are less effective, as they don't carry as much energy to activate the luminous pigments in your pictures. As a result, warm white light requires a longer exposure time to achieve the same effect as cool white light.
In short, if you want to achieve a stronger and faster charge for your picture, cool white light is a better choice than warm white light.
Can I change the frame of the picture?
Yes, you can easily change the frame of your picture as long as the new frame fits the size of the picture you have chosen (21x30 cm or 30x40 cm). Please note that the picture is 3.5-4.5 mm thick, depending on the specific picture you purchase, so make sure the new frame can accommodate this thickness.
